Sensor Configuration
The AppSentinels Sensor provides configurable logging controls that help organizations manage the volume and granularity of API traffic being logged. This flexibility is especially useful for optimizing performance, reducing noise, or conducting focused debugging.
Logging Modes
Sensors can be set to operate in one of the following modes:
- Full Log: Captures the complete request and response, including headers and payload.
- Headers Only: Logs only HTTP headers without the payload.
- No Log / Kill: Disables logging entirely for the sensor.
These modes allow precise control over the data collected from each application environment.
Kill Switch
The platform includes a Kill Switch option that sets all sensors across the organization to No Log / Kill mode instantly. This is helpful during incident response or for temporary shutdown of logging during maintenance or investigation.
Managing Sensor Settings
The Sensor Configuration section lists all sensors registered within the organization. For each sensor, the following details are available:
- App Domain – The associated application
- Logging Mode – The current logging setting
- Sensor Action – Edit button to change the mode for a specific sensor
Administrators can change the logging mode for individual sensors directly from this view.
