Preferences
The Preferences section in the AppSentinels Platform allows administrators to customize system-wide settings that affect display formats, controller cleanup policies, event retention, and DAST data collection.
To configure Preferences, navigate to Settings → Preferences
1. Date Format
Select your preferred format for displaying dates across the platform:
- DD/MM/YYYY – Common in many regions (e.g., 20/05/2025)
- MM/DD/YYYY – U.S. date format (e.g., 05/20/2025)
2. Remove Unused Controllers
To optimize system performance and reduce clutter, the platform can automatically remove inactive controllers:
- Auto Clean Controllers – Enable or disable automatic cleanup of unused controllers.
- Expiry Day – Specify the number of days after which a controller is considered unused and eligible for cleanup.
3. Events
Control how long event logs are retained within the platform:
- Events Retention Period (days) – Set the number of days (default is 30) that event data is stored before being automatically purged. This helps manage storage and aligns with internal data retention policies.
4. DAST (Dynamic Application Security Testing)
Toggle the collection of DAST data from the platform:
- Enable DAST Data Collection – When turned on, the platform will collect data necessary for dynamic security testing.
