Controller Health
The Controller Health tab under System Health in the AppSentinels Platform provides real-time visibility into the operational status of all registered controllers. This helps administrators monitor system availability, policy synchronization, and performance.
Controller Health can be monitored at System Health → Controller Health
Overview
Each row in the Controller Health table displays the following information:
- Host Name – Name of the controller host.
- App Domain – The application domain assigned to the controller.
- Applications – List of applications linked with the controller.
- IP Address – The controller's IP address.
- Status – Indicates whether the controller is currently Up or Down.
- Last Heartbeat – Timestamp of the most recent successful heartbeat received from the controller.
- OPC Policy Version – The version details of the policy as held by the controller vs the expected version.
- Latest Policy Version – The most recent policy version available in the system.
- Policy Sync Time – Time when the controller last synced its policies.
- Statistics – Quick access to traffic and activity metrics reported by the controller.
Statistics View
Clicking the Statistics icon for a controller opens a detailed view of traffic and sensor metrics. This section helps in analyzing controller performance and diagnosing issues based on real-time and historical data.
Sensor Statistics Filters
The following filter options are available to customize the data visualization:
- Category – Select the type of data you want to analyze (e.g., traffic stats, error rates, payload volume).
-
Subcategory – Refines the selected category (e.g.,
AccessLogMessagesCounter
under traffic stats). - Duration – Define the time range for the displayed data (e.g., Last 1 Hour, Last 12 Hours, Last 24 Hours).
These filters enable focused analysis based on the investigation purpose—whether it's understanding log volume, identifying anomalies, or evaluating performance trends.
The visual chart provides a time-based view (X-axis: Time Intervals, Y-axis: Stat Values) to help quickly interpret data trends.
