Reports

AppSentinels provides reports that contain critical and insightful data about the security status of the discovered APIs and the threat activities and security events seen in the application. Some reports also contain expert recommendations from AppSentinels.

 The data window for reports can be set to a maximum of a year. Reports can be downloaded as PDFs.  

Types of reports

  • Threat and Risk report - a report with critical metrics for APIs, such as risk factors, threat actors, threat activities, and security events. This report contains recommendations to reduce risks for APIs and reduce threat activities and security events.
  • Visibility report - a report with insights into the APIs discovered. The APIs are categorized by their characteristics and call methods, the distribution of sensitive parameters by API categories, and API usage trends. This report contains recommendations to address the shortcomings in the APIs.

  • Vulnerability report - a report with insights into the vulnerability risk assessment performed on the APIs. The vulnerabilities are categorized by their severity levels and impact categories.

Report generation options

 The following options can be used for report generation and sharing.

  • One-time report - a report generated manually and only once for the specified period.
  • Scheduled report - a report schedule to generate a report daily or weekly.
  • Email report - an emailing option to send the reports.

Generate report

All generated reports are listed on the Insights page. For Scheduled reports, all versions of a scheduled report are grouped as one line item.

  1. Click New Report on top of the reports list and enter a unique title for the report.
  2. Select the type of report and the scheduling options. See Report generation options for more details.
  3. Click Create.

Download report

  • Click the Download icon in the Actions column to download a report. 

For scheduled reports, expand the report row, locate the iteration of the report, and download the report.

Delete report

Click the Delete icon to delete a report. Reports, once deleted, cannot be retrieved.
